Comfortable Care at Home

Inpatient Care Facilities are designed to be a home away from home.

At our OpusCare Inpatient Facility, we take an individualized approach to every patient we care for. The OpusCare team is available to support our patients and their loved ones through difficult times. Our other services include palliative care services, caregiver support and bereavement programs.

Our inpatient unit in Florida has an outstanding staff specifically trained to provide care for some of the most fragile patients. Physicians make daily rounds, nurses provide care, and integrated staff members—from social workers to chaplains to bereavement counselors—see assigned patients and caregivers. In addition, OpusCare staff gets to know loved ones and makes sure to take the time to talk with the patient, visit with the family and answer questions. As a result, they enhance quality of life for patients and families. Day and night, family members and friends of all ages are welcome, and arrangements may be made for overnight stays.

Our OpusCare Inpatient Facility serves residents from Miami-Dade County and its surrounding regions.

We offer a variety of Care and Services

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with serious illness, you can rely on the compassionate professionals at OpusCare. Day and night, family members and friends of all ages are welcome, and arrangements may be made for overnight stays.

The inpatient hospice care team:

  • Evaluates symptoms

  • Provides advanced symptom management

  • Maintains around-the-clock care and regular visits

Our OpusCare Inpatient Facility offers two levels of care as defined by the Medicare hospice benefit:

General inpatient care

General inpatient care is introduced when symptoms or pain associated with a patient’s diagnosis cannot be managed in the homecare setting, and the patient or patient caregiver does not wish to receive continuous care at home. OpusCare can provide a higher level of specialized care in an inpatient setting until those symptoms are controlled per Medicare guidelines. General Inpatient Care may be provided in a variety of locations, such as an OpusCare inpatient hospice unit or a partnered inpatient care setting, such as a hospital or nursing home.

Respite care

If needed, OpusCare can provide care for you or your loved one in an inpatient setting for up to five consecutive days to give your caregiver or family members a needed “respite” or break from the demands of caring for a seriously ill loved one.

Our Inpatient Hospice Unit is a unique and beautiful space where we can bring our patients for symptom management or respite care. This level of care may be utilized when a hospice patient requires more advanced medical interventions than cannot be successfully provided at home.

Staff at our call center are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. It’s important that our patients and their caregiver can always get in touch with a team member right away. Our registered nurses and customer service representatives are always available to provide clinical advice or emotional support, put caregivers in touch with a member of their local care team, schedule a visit, or answer any question about a care schedule. Our call center staff have access to the same electronic medical record that all our hospice team members use. This allows them to look at the patient’s medication list and the notes that a care team member has entered after visiting a patient in person. Our representatives can provide up–to–date and immediate assistance over the phone.
